Intermediate School  

Welcome to the 2010 Intermediate Schools Rugby Tournament an annual 15-a-side Rugby & Rippa Tournament for all Intermediate Schools in the North Harbour Rugby region. This year will be the 3^rd year in operation, over the past two years the tournament has grown steadily. This year North Harbour Rugby are focusing on growing the number of Intermediate school children participating in this tournament and experiencing rugby or Rippa.  

 

WHY AN INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT?

To provide Intermediate school players the opportunity to experience both Rippa and tackle forms of the game. It also encourages friends from school and neighboring schools to play with and against one another, and allow students to get active, make friends and give rugby a go!

Field days that we host bring teams from many different schools in each area together to test their skills against others and to build lasting friendships, and learn sportsmanship qualities we all need in sport.

WHEN IS IT?

The tournament runs on Tuesday’s or Wednesday’s in Term 2 and 3. Your school plays once a month over three month’s. Please see the times and dates listed below for your school.

WHERE DOES IT HAPPEN?

There are two modules: Western (Massey RFC), Northern (Silverdale RFC). Your school will be allocated to the closest module.

HOW MUCH SCHOOL TIME IS TAKEN UP?

Three days spread over terms 2 and 3, from 9.30am – 1.30pm

DATES AND VENUES OF IST MODULES.

Module field days are scheduled for Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the week of play. All teams are to be assembled by 9.30am for a 10.15am start with games finished and departure at 2.00pm.
