North Harbour 2nd XV coaches Mark Iversen and Walter Little have named an initial training squad featuring a nice blend of seasoned club and representative players as well as a number of promising younger players. 

The squad is currently engaged in strength and conditioning training every Wednesday under the guidance of Jan Reyneke (North Harbour Rugby Academy and 2nd XV Strength and Conditioning Coach).

The 2nd XV will be trialing new rules during its competition this year and it is clear from trials in other countries of the same rules that the pace of the game is increased and the ball is in play for longer meaning a demand for an increased level of fitness.

Both coaches are very excited about the introduction of new rules for the 2nd XV competition as the challenges and possibilities for the game will ensure a high level of motivation for all involved in the squad for 2007.
