2009 FIXTURES

 

v Bay of Plenty, Sat 3rd October, 2.00pm, Harvey Wright, Northcote RFC

North Harbour 10, Bay of Plenty 24.

Point Scorers: R Demant 1 Try, 1 Con, 1Pen.

The last game of the season was our best as a team and not only by the way the girls played but also in their attitude towards the game. The first half saw the Harbour girls control the game. It was only 10 minutes into the game when Harbour scored under the post through Ruahei Demant who converted her own try but BOP struck back not long after but failed to convert. Harbour girls were unlucky not to have scored two more tries as they had territory and possesion most of the half but went into the break 7-5 up. Unfortunately they were over powered by their bigger opponents who ran in 3 unanswered tries in the second half. Great games from Stephanie Phillips, Litana Lase in the backs and the whole forward pack led by Rose Crooks, a good way to finish the season.

v Auckland, Sat 5th September, 12.00pm, Western Springs

North Harbour 0 Auckland 58.

Harbour came up against a very strong Auckland team with Auckland taking control of the game right from the start and maintaining pressure on defence and attack. The Harbour girls tried their best and at times when in Auckland territory looked capable of scoring but were kept at bay by a tight Auckland defence. Good games from Stephanie Phillips, Kendra Otimu and Allyssa Pickens.
