Ronald McDonald House Charities joins the Harbour Rugby family as their Charity Partner.
North Harbour Rugby Union (NHRU) is thrilled to bring on RMHC® New Zealand as their official charity partner for the 2023 and 2024 Bunnings NPC and FPC seasons.
Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand supports families when their child is in a New Zealand hospital away from home by giving families what they need most – each other. In 2022, RHMC New Zealand provided families with over 35,000 nights of accommodation and support free of charge at its facilities throughout New Zealand.
The NHRU partnership will help highlight the important support system RMHC New Zealand provides Kiwis with hospitalised children. NHRU also hopes to create special, behind-the-scenes experiences for RMHC New Zealand families throughout their NPC and FPC campaigns.
The connection between the two was made through the Union’s new partner, Janbre Group, a McDonald’s franchisee who owns five restaurants located within NHRU’s province, and a big supporter of RMHC NZ. Janbre Group, with the support of other franchisees and under the McDonald’s North Shore banner, has committed to a two-year major partnership with the Union and will feature on the front of the NPC and FPC teams playing shorts throughout their 2023 and 2024 campaigns.
NHRU’s CEO, Adrian Donald (AD), thanks McDonald’s North Shore for their introduction to RMHC New Zealand and their recognition of the alignment with the Union’s purpose of ‘improving lives through rugby’.
AD commented, “we are excited to have the opportunity to work with RMHC New Zealand for the next two years. The work they do within our community and communities across the country is inspirational, and we feel privileged to be able to play a part in helping them complete it.”
CEO of RMHC New Zealand Wayne Howett says the charity is extremely grateful for the partnership, stating, “we are humbled to be chosen as the NHRU’s official charity partner. Demand for our services is as high as ever; support such as this is integral to our ability to deliver on our mission, to keep families together.”
The two will begin their work together at the upcoming ‘Champagne on the Shore’ fundraising event held on June 8th at Mercedes-Benz North Shore, proudly supported by Janbre Group.
