SAFE CLUBS, SAFE KIDS

Nationwide, more than 88,000 Junior Rugby participants play rugby every year. Creating a vibrant culture in Junior Rugby is critical not just for the athlete, but for the child. Our whole community has the responsibility of protecting participants from abusive and/or malicious behaviour, to ensure our Junior Rugby players continue to thrive in a safe environment.

Courtesy of New Zealand Rugby (NZR)'s specifically-developed Safe Clubs, Safe Kids Child Protection Programme, we have several resources to provide our clubs and wider community. These are aimed to offer guidance around the protection of young people and players, in rugby.

North Harbour Rugby encourage all of the clubs across our region, to integrate our Safeguarding Children policies. As part of the Safe Clubs, Safe Kids programme, NZR police vets all Junior Rugby coaches.
